Iris was a bold, outspoken woman. This led to her election by her fellow teachers to multiple stints as campus representative to the DLPAC and other committees. Teachers, whose timidity prevented them from speaking up, knew that their concerns would be heard if they told Iris. She would persistently ask questions until she got answers.
