Jack Cervera

Jack "Beso" Cervera, 96, widower of Josephine Cervera, since 2007 of New Britain, passed away peacefully on January 25, 2020. Jack was born in Orba, Spain to the late Joaquin and Francisca. He previously resided in Spain before settling in New Britain. Jack was employed by Stanley Tools, he retired in 1987. He was a parishioner of St. Ann's Church. He married Josephine and they made their home in New Britain, Ct for 60 years. Jack was a devoted husband and father who cherished time sent with family. In addition to raising their children, he maintained his love of carpentry. A light hearted man, he had a loving and gentle nature with a great sense of humor. He was a member of the Spanish American Cultural Club. He was an avid bird lover, enjoyed baking, gardening, vacationing in Spain and time spent with family and friends at his White Sand Beach home. He is survived, and will be dearly missed by, his two sons, Jack Cervera and his wife Pat of North Stonington, Ct, John Cervera and his wife Brenda Thibeault of Bristol, CT and his daughter Josephine Cervera of Waterford, CT. His brother Juan Cervera and his wife Rosita of Orba, Spain and his sister Pilar Ballester of Florida. He will be dearly missed by his grandchildren, Shawn Cervera, Monique Cervera and Carrie Ann Reissner, along with 5 great-grandchildren Faith Cervera, Riley, Dylan and Morgan Reissner, and Madison Damiano, and many nieces and nephews. His family would like to express their deep gratitude to his many neighbors and friends for their many acts of kindness and support during his illness. A time of visitation will be held from 4pm to 7pm on Wednesday, January 29, 2020 at New Britain Memorial and Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave, New Britain, CT. Funeral services will begin Thursday, January 30, 2020, at 10am at New Britain Memorial and Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave, New Britain, CT, followed by the Funeral Liturgy at 11:00am at New Britain Memorial and Sagarino Funeral Home.
