Jack Edward Ubel, age 90, resident of Eads, Tennessee, husband of the late Emma June Ubel, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Friday morning, March 27, 2026, at NHC, Somerville, Tennessee.

Jack was born on April 28, 1935, in St. Paul, Minnesota, the son of the late John A. Ubel and Virginia Coy Soiseth. He entered the United States Marine Corps and served faithfully for 22 years, retiring in January, 1974. He then attended and graduated from Memphis State University (now the University of Memphis). Afterward, he began working for Civil Service teaching and training others in the area he served in helicopter combat.

He married Emma June Bradshaw in March, 1957. Mrs. June preceded him in death in August, 2020, after 63 years of marriage.

Jack has served faithfully through his service in the United States Marine Corps, as a school board member of Fayette County Schools, and as a deacon of the Bethlehem Baptist Church in Rossville, Tennessee.

He was an avid collector, Marine to the bone, liked to watch Westerns, loved his family dearly, and loved His LORD and his church, Bethlehem Baptist Church in Rossville, Tennessee.

Mr. Ubel is survived by his 2 daughters, Kelly Harrell and Kim Ponder (Dwayne); his son, John K. Ubel (Elaine); 1 sister, Marlys King-Carvelli; and grandchildren, Drew Harrell, Daren Harrell (Caitlin), Jennifer Dill, Hope Delarosa (Joel), Abbey Ramsey (Trey), Emma Tamoglia (John), and Caroline Waggener (Jonathan); and 10 Great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife, June, and 2 brothers, Bob and Mike Ubel.

Jack will truly be missed by all those who ever knew him. One of his great passions in the past few years was being able to support the Mercy Home Children’s Orphanage in Rajahmundry, India. He was passionate about supporting them in any way he could and also about helping children here in Fayette County Schools, particularly at Southwest Elementary School.

To know Jack was to truly love him. He will be greatly missed.

The family has requested a private funeral service for Mr. Ubel.

Memorials can be made to Bethlehem Baptist Church, P. O. Box 235, Rossville, Tennessee 38066.
