Not sure what to say?

On September 17, 1984 Dwight Gooden tied the record of 32 strikeouts in consecutive games. Reggie Jackson was the 13th member of the 500 home run club and Jacob Christopher Davis was born to love the game of baseball.

We met Jake about 6 or 7 years ago. Scott introduced him by telling him that he shared the same birthdate of 9/17 with me (Joanne). Right there I knew Jake would be on of our "special adopted sons". His smile would light up our house. He proved to be a special friend...

Jake you were our Tuesday night partner in crime and had I known that this day would come, I would have never missed out on last weeks "bible study" if that meant I got to see you one more time. I will always miss you and Vernon playing out that scene in Forest Gump. You were the most kind, loving person who would not hesitate to help someone out. You have taught me and many more an important lesson: that life is unpredictable and to take nothing for granted; To soak up life and never forget...

Jayna and the Roberts family,
May you be comforted by those around you and the prayers of the saints. We just know that God has control, and not us. May you know that Frank and I are lifting your family and Jake's in our prayers. Our love, prayers and sympathy,
Frank and Carla Koons

Michelle and Family, We were so sorry to read of Jake's passing. I know he will be missed by so many. You are all in our thoughts and prayers.

I am so sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with the entire family.

Jake i'm going to miss you so much!! You have always been there for me no matter what i was going through in my life. It pains me so much to know that you will not be here physically, but only in spirit. I know time will heal my heart, but i will miss my best friend! I'm going to miss our times together doing the things we loved so much(watching football, movies, having beers together, and the many other adventures we would share. The weekend of April 17-19, 2009 will always be a special memory...

Steve, Tamara, Tyler and Casey:
We'll miss seeing Jake hanging out in your office and around the complex. We know he was such a gift to you and your family. He will missed by all the lives that he touched, big and small.

You will be missed. God bless you in his loving arms and bless your little family here on earth.
S.M.

Jake was always there for Vernon and I. No matter what the situation may have been. If I was moving, he helped. If my nieces had a fundraiser, he helped (even if he couldn't afford it). We watched football all of the time together. If I couldn't be there to watch with him and Vernon, there were numerous text messages going back and forth. The three of us were a tri-pod.

Jake was truly the little brother I never had. I am forever grateful for the time I spent with him. We had some...
