Jacob Shackelford Obituary

Jacob Lee Shackelford, age 40, of Atoka, Tennessee passed away on Monday, April 14, 2025. Born on July 2, 1984, in Memphis, Jacob lived his life with strength, heart, and a deep love for his family and the outdoors. Jacob proudly served as a lineman for Memphis Light, Gas and Water (MLGW), where he worked with dedication and resilience. He was known for his strong work ethic and willingness to lend a hand wherever it was needed. Outside of work, Jacob found his peace in the woods. He was an avid turkey and deer hunter, and some of his favorite moments were spent in nature. Jacob is survived by his loving wife, Amy Shackelford, and their daughter, Bailey Shackelford, who was the light of his life. He also leaves behind his parents, Larry and Beverly Shackelford; his brother, Ben Shackelford (Ashley, Jacey & Hank). A memorial service will be held to honor Jacob's life at Faith Baptist Church Bartlett, on Monday April 21st from 4-6, service to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to The National Wild Turkey Federation (NWTF) in memory of Jacob's love for the outdoors. Jacob's legacy lives on in the lives he touched, the work he did, and the love he gave so freely.
