Thompson, Jacqueline 86, passed away April 4, 2016. Jacque's love for music showed, she taught piano for over 50 years, and many of Jacque's students went on to receive scholarships. She displayed her creativity in her hobbies including art, sculpture and quilting. She was a graduate of Wichita State University and enjoyed Shocker basketball. Jacque married her husband of 66 years, William Thopmson on December 22, 1949 in Houston, TX. She was known to many as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and will be missed dearly. She was preceded by her parents, Julian and Myrth (Ivy) Perry; sister, Myrth Hill. She is survived by her husband, William Thompson; daughter, Julie (Richard) Burel; sons, Brian Thompson and Todd (Jackie) Thompson; grandchildren, Kyle, Brandy, Courteney, and Ashton; and great-granddaughter, Ava. Visitation 4-7 p.m. Thursday, April 7, 2016, at Resthaven Mortuary. Celebration of Life service will be 3 p.m. Friday, April 8, 2016, at Faith Christian Church, 2110 W. 45th St. S., Wichita, KS. Memorials may be made to Faith Christian Church or Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, 313 S. Market St., Wichita, KS.

Mr. Thompson, I can't tell you how much we loved and appreciated Jacque. She inspired Rachel and made it possible for her to excel in her skill. Coming to your house was about so much more than just music. We loved to see Jacque's art on display and it was just a joy to encounter her sweet spirit. We are most blessed to have known this dear lady.

Jacque was one of the greatest women I've been privileged to know. She had a generous heart and never hesitated to let you know where she stood on things. I was lucky enough to have her as my mother-in-law for a number of years, and she remained a friend always. She will be greatly missed.
