I saw Dad about a week before he passed on. He was quiet and barely eating, but I think he knew it was Gaye and I who were there with him.

As part of our relationship revolved around Houston sports, I showed him the final play of this year's world series, when the Astros won their first title ever after 55 years. He looked at the video, raised his fist and shook it, as if to say "Yeah, Astros, you finally finished the race!"

Dad we sure are going to miss you, even thou you are now in a better place and are no longer in pain, it still breaks my heart, so much of the person I grew up to be is because of you, you were such a good Dad, so many good memories from my childhood, enjoy Christmas in heaven, you get to celebrate with our Heavenly Father, that does give me some comfort, but I still miss you, always Loved you always will, the cute one, lol
