James believed I did alot for the Native American community and that I needed to work hard to end many of the social ills faced by our Nation.

Finding out today the loss of my friend Jim was shocking, and saddening. Jim's death is a tragic loss as he was a wonderful friend and great attorney.

I miss my friend Jim, or as my family affectionately called him, Jimbo. He always had a big smile ready every time we saw him. He was always genuinely concerned about family members and would always ask "How are the kids." Our kids loved him. He always made them feel special. He made a wonderful impression on the City of Gallup and surrounding area, not only as the Chief Deputy District Attorney for McKinley County, but also as a music lover and as a person who took action for the good of...

I was very fond of Jim and was shocked and saddened at his passing. His first felony trial was against me, when he was a public defender, I was prosecuting. He was an excellent attorney. I was quite pleased when he joined the DA's office in Gallup. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends. I wish I could be there for the service.
