Father Boesel was one of the good ones. I knew him from St. Patrick's in Glen Cove when I was a little kid. He used to get us into shape for the annual Memorial Day Parades in GC by having us march in the big parking lot across from the school. He was always happy, always smiling, and never had anything but encouraging things to say to us. He also was very generous with his time and often helped my family during financial hard times. When I was a student at St Pat's in Glen Cove, for Memorial Day, during lunchtime out in the parking lot, the student body had to practice marching for the Glen Cove Memorial Day parade. Father Boesel was in charge with a big whistle around his neck and a swift kick in the behind for any laggers. It was always in good fun and he bubbled with energy, jokes, and encouragement to keep all the kids paying attention to left, left, left, right, left as we followed the practicing band around and...

As a student at Holy Family DHS, I remember him as an outgoing, jovial priest. His smile and demeanor made it easier for new high school students. God bless.

I did work at oir lady of mercy church for 12 yrs he was agood guy.

Msgr. Boesel was my spiritual adviser for a period of time. He helped me so much and I truly miss him. May he rest in the peace & joy of God's heaven and may he pray for us as we pray for him until we see him again.

Father Boesel was great friends with my parents Frank & Ellie Corker. I have very fond memories of many a fun time with him. RIP Msgr. Boesel
