Jim and his beautiful voice were such a gift to so many people. He sang at my wedding and also at a number of funerals in the Murray family. My family was fortunate to know Jim and Jack Bogue through the wonderful SFFD "family". Godspeed to a very special and gifted man.

Dear Family, My condolences to all of you on the death of your dear Father, the Singing Fireman. I went to St. Peter’s with your Father and Mother and have fond memories of their childhood days on 24th Street. May he Rest In Peace! Love and prayers, Mrs. Frank (Mary) O’ROURKE

A great man who will be missed by all that knew him and heard his beautiful voice.

My first day out of the SFFD fire college, I was assigned to TK 6 on the A watch. Jim was on my first watch and I learned much from him and our LT. Ovid Seyler. Loved doing house work at Station 6 because Jim was always singing and his songs resonated throughout the firehouse. A great guy to work with and I am proud to say I worked with his Dad John (E-17) and Capt, Jack at Tk 3. Love our memories with Jim.

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.

After leaving Fire Dispatch, I was assigned to Engine 6. Jim was on Truck 6. A true gentleman, always had a nice thing to say with a smile on his face. Heard him sing at events and was amazed how heart felt his singing was.

Sorry too hear, but he obviously had a long and full life. 91. Amazing!

Jim was an important cog in many generations of Bogue. He has a wide reaching legacy. The "Singing Fireman" sang at my grandmother's funeral (Catherine Albrecht) in 1979 at St. John's Church. I can still hear his angelic voice and remember how his singing helped me heal. May he rest in peace and now lead the heavenly choir.
Condolences to his entire family.
