Judge Jim Brown was so kind when we adopted our son. He had our three year old from Russia sit on his desk. He talked to our five year old daughter about having a little brother. We have wonderful memories about this very kind man. God bless him and his family.

Jim Brown was a witty, intelligent man and a fine judge. I always enjoyed working with him. I extend my prayers and sincere condolences to Jim's family and friends.

My thoughts this week are with Beth and the family and friends of Judge Brown. It was my great fortune and privilege to spend my first year out of law school serving as his law clerk. From what I saw, Judge Brown was a down-to-Earth gentleman who did exactly what a judge should do: he listened to the parties, he gave everyone a fair shake, he researched the law, and he did his duty to apply the law fairly to the facts.
