Judge Jim Brown was so kind when we adopted our son. He had our three year old from Russia sit on his desk. He talked to our five year old daughter about having a little brother. We have wonderful memories about this very kind man. God bless him and his family.

My thoughts this week are with Beth and the family and friends of Judge Brown. It was my great fortune and privilege to spend my first year out of law school serving as his law clerk. From what I saw, Judge Brown was a down-to-Earth gentleman who did exactly what a judge should do: he listened to the parties, he gave everyone a fair shake, he researched the law, and he did his duty to apply the law fairly to the facts. He showed no prejudice as to any matter, except as to ice cream, toward which he was notably biased. It was an honor to have known him and worked with him.

Jim Brown was a Class Act. I worked as his court reporter for many years. He was an outstanding judge and had a brilliant mind. I was very lucky to have the opportunity to work for him. My prayers are with you, Beth, and your family. Jim will be missed
