Not sure what to say?

Such a gentlemanly guy, I had the distinguished honor of working with Jim at CD Pubs...RIP my friend

Jim loved music! He shared with me his appreciation especially of Irish and Scottish folk music and the authentic artists who would come over from the motherland and perform for loving, sing-along audiences. Jim loved politics and policy! He enjoying sharing his deep knowledge of what seemed to me the History of Everything, rivaled only, in my opinion, by Robert Reich; I learned a lot from him. Jim loved talking about his son and daughter, too; his apartment was dotted with photos of...

My memory includes all the Byrne men who have told the best stories over all these years, even when it really didn't begin as much of a story! Lots of smiles and encouragement for the memories! Thanks!
Love, Frances G.

Jim & I go back to 1978, almost four decades! Too many memories to list, but I recall how he let me stay with him in his big house on Madison St. for a month in the summer of 1980, without a second thought, which helped me immensely at a time of marital discord.
Since then, usually at his instigation, we went together to countless events, from folk singers to poets to public policy forums to the National Book Fair to the Nationals. I cherish all those memories.

What a great human being who is now for sure a Spiritual Being and 'happy" for sure. Our friend Rose and Leutrell Osborne Sr

So sorry for all of Jim's family, brother, children and grandchildren.

Jim Byrne was the first editor of Tax Notes magazine, which has been published by Tax Analysts for nearly 50 years. As editor, he helped to establish the magazine's reputation for in-depth reporting and sophisticated tax policy analysis. Jim was also a good friend to the group of individuals who worked at Tax Analysts during its formative years, keeping them in touch with one another by sponsoring periodic get-togethers. He will be greatly missed.

To the Byrne family! I'm sending my heartfelt condolences for your loss. Isn't it sad how fleeting life can prove to be today. This was not God's purpose for mankind, so God promises that very soon now he will completely eliminate all things that causes pain and suffering including death.

I will dearly miss our almost daily chats about the Nats and the Cubs, softball in the family, and all the many wonderful people in your life.
