Not sure what to say?

Dear Vivian and family, I am so sorry for your loss of such an outstanding person as Jim. I did not know Jim personally, but his and my friend, Dane Nielson, told me that Jim was "the toughest, bravest officer I ever worked with." To me, that says it all. I am sure that your memories of Jim will help you all to get through this most difficult of times.

Beverly, Jennifer and girls, We have just found out about Jimmy and we both were shocked and grieved. If ever we can help please don't hesitate to call on us. We will be visiting with Beverly in Arkansas.

A very sad tragedy....to a Man who was doing his job, "to protect and serve". My best to his friends and family.

Jennifer,Jillian,Jamie,Justine & family, my heartfelt condolences to you all. I worked with Jim in the Traffic Office for a few years and feel honored to have known such a wonderful person. I assisted him with the crossing guard program and words cannot express how much Jim gave of himself to others. Jim has touched so many lives and I will always remember the Officer & A Gentleman who is a hero. May he rest in peace.

I did not know this unique and wonderful man, but the stories of how deeply he loved and cared for his family and friends, the dedication to his job and the professionalism and integrity with which he performed it, the selfless devotion to the young women he coached, his zest for life, and his commitment to excellence and compassion and generosity have inspired me to redouble my own volunteer efforts in Vallejo. We have lost a great man. We cannot afford to lose his example. We must let it...

Jennifer, Girls & Family

Although it's difficult today to see beyond the sorrow,
May looking back in memory help comfort you tomorrow.
Because...Jim may be....
Gone from your sight,
but never your memories.
Gone from your touch,
but never your hearts
Believe that...
Life brings tears,smiles and memories.
The tears dry,
the smiles fade,
but the memories
live on forever.
And...
If tears could build a stairway,

I've known Jim for nearly two decades. Jim had a quick wit, very dry and sometimes abrasive sense of humor that kept me rolling. If you did not want to know how Jim felt about something, you did not ask him a question. Sometimes you didn't even need to ask him a question and he would give you a candid response. Even writing this now and reflecting, he is making me laugh.

Jim was the embodiment of the warrior soul. Jim loved his beloved Marine's and always gave me crap for having...

May you Rest in Paradise Officer Capoot. Thank you for protecting our community. My heartfelt condolences and blessings go out to the Capoot Family during this difficult time. Please remember that he will always be with you.

To Jamie, Jillian and Justine,
Your dad died on the day of my dad's funeral. While I'm much older than you (49), I want to express my sincere sympathy. I now know (as do you) how horrible it is to lose your father. My dad was also a police officer, retiring from the San Francisco PD after 30 years of service. After reading the paper and the outpouring of love for your dad I was in tears. As you grieve for his loss, I would like to share something that the priest at my dad's service...
