Sad to read of Jimmy's illness and subsequent passing . This goes back 50 some years now while a young man like Jimmy in Huntington , whether it was while I was working at Olympic Pool or working out at the YMCA May building there was always a pickup basketball game going on and Jimmy Clayton was usually dominating the play but in a fun good spirited way . My love and peace to Mary, Levi and Catherine and the rest of his family. Enjoy a wonderful memories and neighborhood with the jungle boys. I first met Coach Clayton during my sophomore year in high School at Huntington East in1983. I was in a Driver's Ed. class and our teacher, Mr. Mann was absent one day. Coach substituted for Mr. Mann and I was selected to be the driver. Mr. Clayton sat in the front passenger side of the car and with three other students in the back seat, off we went. Coach asked me to get over onto Third Avenue, head west, and be prepared to make a left hand turn down the road because we were going to...

Jimmy was my childhood friend and then we continued our friendship through high school.. He was ALWAYS THERE FOR ME AND OTHERS.. He called me when I was in town and asked if he could come visit my Mom and spend time with me catching up.. he was never too busy.. we hsd a wonderful day at Riverview.. oh how he was loved bu my family .. O will miss every part of you!!

We are incredibly sad to hear of the passing of Jimmy. He touched the lives of so many in the community, including my daughter and grandson. To his sweet wife and his family, we are praying for God´s comfort and we send our love. Victoria, Renae, Elijah, and the Sewell Family.

Very sorry to learn of Jimmy`s passing as he was an inspirational speaker at the Beverly Hills methodistmen´s breakfast. I shall miss his enthusiasm and great advice.
