I first learned of James Econn when I handled insurance matters for a small computer company in the early 1980s. Our broker was James Econn and Company. I worked directly with James' brother, Richard. I always had great respect for the Econns. James Econn and Company was a company of high professionalism and integrity. This was due to the leadership of James and later Richard. Both are gone now but the professionalism and integrity they inspired will continue in all who worked with them...

I am so sorry to hear about Jim's passing. He was such a wonderful man that I respected and admired tremendously. My times spent with Jim were always fun,entertaining and a learning experience for me.His old typewriter letters encouraging me and sharing his knowlege and experiences are a treasure I will always hold onto. I know personally that I am a better person for knowing Jim Econn and having him as my friend.Jim was truly "one of the great ones"....
