James Wm. Filby

James Wm. Filby, age 89, was called home on Wednesday, May 31, 2017. Beloved husband of Judy Guillot Filby for 51 years. Loving father of Kelley Filby Fornatoro and Steven James Filby, M.D. (Kimberly). Proud grandfather of Brian and Brett Fornatoro, Anani Filby, Kelley, Brooke and Julia Filby. Brother of Marlene Davidson. Brother in-law of Sherry Marino and Suzanne B. Spiess (Albert). Also survived by nieces, nephews, friends and his canine companions Checkers and Hershey Kisses. Jim was a proud World War II Veteran who served in the United States Army. Jim was an avid scrabble player. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Memorial Service at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Blvd. in Metairie on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at 1:00 am. Visitation will begin at 11:00 am and continue until the time of service. Light refreshments will be served at Leitz-Eagan immediately following the service.
