James W. Fossett Ph.D.

Condolences to Jim and his family. I served on the Graduate Academic Council with him when I was at UAlbany before leaving to Hunter College, and he was always kind and a generous mentor to younger faculty such as myself. I remember his commitment to students and social justice, and his unwavering support to immigrants and communities of color. He is a rare combination of brilliance and compassion. I am sorry to hear of his passing, and he will be missed.
