JAMES FOSSETT

FOSSETT--Dr. James, 72, of Delmar, NY died on December 15, 2022. Loving partner of Bess Epstein, father of Jeffrey Fossett, son of the late Sara and Roy Fossett, brother of the late Lawrence Fossett, and husband of the late Janet Perloff Fossett. Born in Emory, GA and raised in suburban Atlanta, Jim earned a bachelor's degree with honors from Vanderbilt University, and a doctoral degree in political science from the University of Michigan. Recently retired from a long academic career, Jim is the author of numerous scholarly articles, book chapters and reports on topics including health care politics and policy, federalism, bioethics, and natural disaster relief. His most recent academic appointment was Associate Professor at the Graduate School of Public Affairs, Public Policy Program, and School of Public Health at The State University of New York at Albany. Funeral services will be held at 12pm noon on Friday, December 30th at Applebee Funeral Home, 403 Kenwood Ave. in Delmar, NY; visitation with the family will begin at 11am at the funeral home, and interment will follow at B'nai Sholom Cemetery in Troy.
