Not sure what to say?

I am only now aware that Jim died almost two years ago. It has filled me with sadness and a new sense of gratitude to this wonderful man. Jim served as chair of my doctoral committee at Emory in the mid 1980's and was a great help and encouragement during the process. I have always felt that this accomplishment was the best of my educational experience and I appreciate his help so very much. I am sorry and will pray for the family because I know you still miss this bigger than life man so...

As a youth at Madison Methodist Church (before "United') I knew Jim and Lurline when they led the youth group. I went on to get my MDiv at Drew. Of course we studied Jim's stages of faith. Dr. Jim Fowler was a wonderful teacher. I will miss him. I loved talking with him about Eric Ericson. I know he is at peace in Heaven with God now. Our prayers go with the family now. Rev. Dr. J Thomas Maddox

Isaiah 57:18 says, I have seen his ways, but I will heal him and lead him and restore comfort to him and to his mourning ones." Sorry for your loss!

We are most grateful for having known Jim during his years at the Emory Ethics Center, and express our sincerest condolences to his family and to his colleagues at Emory who will miss the inspirational leadership who provided for so many years.

Lurline, please know that you and your family are in my thoughts and heart.
