Not sure what to say?

Jim was a friend with my step-father, Eddie Thompson, while stationed at Fort Ord. When my parents threw parties, Bob and Jim always came. When my step-father died in 1965, Jim drove my mom and other family members to Menlo Park for the burial. He remained friends with mom and even gave my brother, Dennis, his first job as a busboy in one of the restaurants next to Wharf No. 2. I have so many good memories of Jim. He attended my mom's funeral in 1982. Anytime that I saw him, he always took...

Jim was the major reason I ever did anything that matters as far as my financial situation.Very complicated but to me very good .RIP Mr Gilbert..God bless your loving family

Jim Gilbert was a great inspiration for me as a young employee at East Of Eden restaurant in Salinas CA. 40 years later I still remember many conversations he and I had on the steps of his office on Romie lane. My heart goes out to his entire family. Try to rest in peace MR Gilbert as I know you are probably opening a restaurant in Heaven. God bless you.

May you rest in peace, Jim Gilbert. You were the kindest, most respectful, honest, considerate, professional man I have ever worked for.The Lobster Grotto and Malio's were wonderful work experiences. Prayers for your most beautiful family. Thank you for caring.

We will miss Jim in Monterey. I met him while he served on the Planning Commission. He will be remembered as one of Wharf I's great supporters.

Jim was not only family to me, he was my best friend. I will love and miss him always.. many prayers for his wonderful family.

In loving memory of a wonderful person. We will love you and miss you always.
