James Taylor Gurley Sr. on August 16, 2022, son of Gayle Teston Farrell and James Thomas Gurley, born in Chambley, Meurthe et Moselle, France on July 24, 1957. A native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Chicago, IL area for the past forty years. A helpful loving son and brother, kind and thoughtful to his many friends whom he treasured; his bass fishing buddies, his volleyball mates, his fellow snow mobilers and the group that always gathered for football games at their local pub. Survived by his wife, Denise Hopkinson Gurley; two sons, James Taylor Gurley Jr., and Jacque Anthony Gurley both of New Orleans, LA; three step daughters; mother, Gayle Teston Farrell; brothers, Michael Dale Gurley (Shannon) of Kikei, HI and Richard Kent Gurley of Houston, TX; three granddaughters , Laila Michelle, Bella Michelle Gurley and Ryleigh Taylor Gurley all of New Orleans, LA; niece, Jadyn Eva Gurley of Kikei, HI; three nephews, Christopher Michael Gurley of Atlanta, GA, Ian Campbell Gurley of Chicago, IL and Elijah Roan Gurley of Kikei, HI; two great nephews, Liam Wilde and Logan James Gurley. Mr. Gurley attended Louisiana State University and was Owner and President of Phoenix Industries USA. Services and Interment on Monday, August 22, 2022 at 11:00 AM, Lafayette Cemetery No. 1, 1400 Washington Ave, New Orleans, LA 70130.
