My memories of Uncle Sonny are many but here are a few he left with me for keeps: positive attitudes even when as kids we were told no, funny funny talks that included everybody, lots of smiles that started the very second you saw him, explanations that taught you something even if it wasn't you he was speaking to, encouraging words, family fun around the table on the back porch, reminisce about good memories and it makes you happy, caring means something, a rare stern look because we needed...

Uncle Sonnny was my Mom (Libby Carr Dodd) favorite uncle. They shared a bond that somehow kept them connected no matter what happened in life. The two of them could talk family history and swap stories for hours on end with as much passion as I have ever witness between two people.
