Not sure what to say?

One of the real good old boys. Jimmy was my classmate and frat brother. I gave his his moniker of "Jumpin Jimmy"while at Elon. I am not surprised he was so successful and loved by many. God Bless you, brother.

We are deeply saddened to learn just today of Jimmy´s recent passing. Our daughter is in nursing school at Elon and met a professor that knew Jimmy from church. Jimmy officiated football with Bo and was a coworker of Liz at Burlington Industries. Jimmy introduced us in 1984 and we just celebrated our 36th anniversary. We loved Jimmy Holmes very much and are so grateful for his friendship. We send our love and prayer to all the family. There is only one Jimmy Holmes, and we thank God for...

Blessed to have known your dad!

Jumpin' Jimmie Holmes as my dad called him. They played baseball together at Elon, and Dad always spoke so highly of Mr. Holmes. Without a doubt, one of the most respectful gentlemen I've ever known. Always a smile on his face. Always an encouraging word. And always active with his family. I guess he and Dad are swinging for the fences together in Heaven. Men like Mr. Holmes can't be replaced. But I know that Reid and his brothers will carry the torch so that their dad's legacy will continue...

Nancy and family, We are so very sorry for the earthly loss of dear Jim. May the Lord bless you with comfort and wonderful memories.

Jim was a class act and friend. He once presented my wife a black birthday cake at 1/2 time of a football game at NW celebrating her 50th. So sorry for your loss.

I enjoyed many conversations with Mr. Holmes on cold spring afternoons preparing for SW baseball games. He always shared his wisdom of the game but also of the human condition. He cared about people.I learned from him. His legacy will continue through the lives he touched. Mrs. Holmes, you are a faithful wife and mother, an inspiration for me, you will be lifted in my prayers. Reid, how blessed you are to have had your dad so many years by your side, he raised a great man of God. You will...

Our sincerest condolences to your family on the passing of Mr Holmes. Such a strong, quiet soul. His dedication to SW baseball program will be forever etched into the lives of many! He will be greatly missed! Love and prayers to the Holmes Family

May our Lord bless and comfort you and your family during this time of grief. Prayers.
