For my friends the Koch family, the oddness of writing to you and not being able to travel to you is compounded by the fog of our current world, there are no words to express the deepest sympathies, respect and love. I met Jim over 30 years ago, and the early years of our relationship remain ingrained in me to this day as some of the best times of my life and I am better for being close to the Koch family and the Koch brothers.
The times and memories are endless, from seeing him...

I remember going to his house to set up for raptor rehab while volunteering for The Raptor Chapter of NE Indiana. He loved animals. He had much pride and love for his family and enjoyed life. RIP Jim, may your spirit soar with the wind that lets the Eagle fly and your windmills turn.

My condolences and prayers go out to Jim's family. I am shocked and saddened by this terrible turn of events (as are all of Jim's windmill friends). Jim's windmill knowledge and knack of sniffing out the really good ones was truly amazing.

He was a good man and i considered him my friend. It was always good to see what he was up to. He was a very passionate man and he did a lot of really neat (and sometimes unusual) things in his life. His eye for detail was a special gift. He was the guy who would spend days making something absolutely perfect when someone of lesser patience and skill would do their best and stop trying after a few hours. I remember a Halloween party he had. We had no idea what to expect but the finale...

James was always willing to help at Windmillers’ Trade Fairs, including the one we hosted in Batavia, IL, in 2012. He always greeted you with a smile and made you laugh. So glad to hear that he gave so much to his community and was so loving and loved by his family, Church and community. How sad to lose such a young, dynamic and caring person. My prayers for his family.
