Funeral service for James Lenwood Cole DDS, 64, will be 1 p.m. today February 23, 2016 at Harvest Church of God with Pastor Jerry Irwin officiating. Burial will follow at Forestlawn Gardens. The family will receive friends at Harvest Church of God from 12-1 p.m. on today. Dr. Cole passed away Saturday at his residence. Survivors include his loving wife of 22 years, Rebecca (Fay) Cole; step-daughters, Donna Cline and Sherry Cline; step-son, James Wesley Dopson; step-grandchildren, Jennifer Reaves, Brandon Malone, Shaina Cline, Alison Cline, Alissa Cline, Alen Dopson, Macy Dopson, Bella Reaves and Addy Malone; cousin, Bernise Cole and many other cousins. Dr. Cole is preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Lenwood Cole and Ruth Hargrove Cole; sister, Martha Cole; and step-son, Anthony Cline. Pallbearers will be Wes Dopson, Jack Smith, Brandon Malone and Bret Reaves. Dr. Cole practiced dentistry 37 years in Anniston and Oxford. He graduated from UAB and University of Alabama. He loved Alabama football and fishing. He was a good Christian man, loved God and was loved by all that knew him. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Hospice and all the staff for their care and undivided attention to Dr. Cole; a special thank you to all the members of Harvest Church of God for prayer and support; and a special thanks to Jerri Smith and the whole Sunday school class.
