Not sure what to say?

He was my bishop, teacher quorum adviser, and mission president and a great family friend since the 1930s. He will be missed.

For David, I never met your Father, but I remember how kind and gentle you were towards me ,when my Father passed, It was over thirty years ago, it feels like yesterday, I just wanted your family to know what a kind and caring man you are, and I am sure your Father must have played a great part in your empathy, kindness, and how to be a good man. I am very sorry for your loss-Lisa Moore

Lots of great memories on Emerson Avenue, at Curtis Elementary, Clayton Jr. High, and Highland HS with the Macfarlane family and many other friends and families that were in the area. Mr. Macfarlane was one of my little league baseball coaches. He also took Ann and I to perform poems on the Admiral Birney show when I think we were in 3rd grade. I don't recall what poem Ann did. I did "I Have a Little Shawdow" He had us practicing on the way, I know that help a great deal. I...

My thoughts are with you all!

We were so sorry to learn of Jim´s death. He and Carol were two of our favorite people. He was a force at the University of Utah where we met and we considered both Jim and Carol good friends. We will miss them.

Jim was one of the most important, helpful, and influential people in my youth. He had exceptional perspective and I can still hear his laugh. All my best to the family. What a great man. With gratitude, Blade

An absolute gem of a man has left us, but he will never be forgotten because each one of us will carry a memory of just that time when the advice or wisdom he shared with us carried us forward to accomplish that difficult task that we needed to finish. I was a mother of three very small children and I had broken/mangled my leg in a spectacular ski accident. Jim and Carol came to visit and I could see from the looks on their faces that they knew I was in a really desperate situation--and I...

We loved Jim, and Carol, for many years. Jim was of great service and leadership to our family when he was Bishop, and thereafter. Rest well, dear friend

I was so sorry to hear of Jim's passing. He was such a kind and friendly man; always found the good in everyone and likewise, everyone loved him. He was the heart and soul of IC Group and his absence will be felt. My warmest condolences to all of the Macfarlane family and hope you find some comfort in knowing he was so loved.
