James "Jim" McGowan

Dear Friends & Family, A short note to pass along condolences for an old friend... Jim & I were classmates @ Start High, but more importantly, we shared working together @ Bischoff's Food Center, in the late 60's. I learned a lot working with Jim, his personality, & salemanship were outstanding... Our paths took different directions after he left the store, but I always remembered how Jim did business, & how he made customers feel welcome & important. Even though we have not seen each other...

The SHS Class of 67 sends condolences to Jim's wife and family. Jim was a funny, fun-loving guy that had no enemies. He always wore a smile and his humor was addicting. We loved Jim! RIP Jim

So Sorry to hear of Jim's passing. The McMahon Family has very fond memories of Jim and his father Marv, and their White House Creamery on Sylvania Ave. where we spent many good times. We lived on Overland Pkwy and our parents sent us down to their store for cigarettes, with notes from our parents, of course, Hostess Twinkies for dessert, and of course, their famous warm nuts! So sorry to hear and reading of Jim's passing. I was also a classmate of Jim at Start High School. Yes he was always smiling and polite. My sympathy goes out to his wife and family.
