Not sure what to say?

My deepest sympathy to the family of James "Tennessee" Mitchell. I met Tennessee during my freshman year at Prairie View. He was a good friend and a great protector. May God bless you. His physical presence is gone, but he will live on in your hearts. I commend the Atlanta Falcons for honoring Tennessee at the Bucs game.

A life long friend from childhood when "Pork Chop" came to Albion to visit for the summers. You will be missed.

my name is gene wingate I met porkchop back in the early 60's when he would come to albion michigan to visit his two brothers who lived there. He was a great athlete and a even better person. Rest in peace chop.

May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well-lived.

Damon and Davin,

My deepest sympathies are extended to The Family of Jim Mitchell.

"Meat" was one of a kind! He always had a smile, a hug, and a kind word. His efforts, delivered in communities in which he lived, are appreciated and will be missed.

God said... "enough is enough Jim, come on home". "Well Done"!

I will miss him.

RIP my friend!

My deepest sympathies are extended to The Mitchell Family.

I met Jim in 1971 through his good friend and my GodBrother, "Big Claude". Because we lived nearby, I would see him frequently 'running' to aid in his training. Jim always greeted me with a smile and a hug. We had good and memorable times together. Even at the lowest point with his health, he seemed as courageous as when he was on the football field, and that's saying a lot. I will miss him.

Be assured that, though...

Damien & Davin, you guys are in my prayers. My family and I will truly miss your dad, he was a really nice man. Love Always
