My condolences to Colonel O's family. I served in the S3 (Plans, Operations & Training), 4th Brigade, Fort Gordon, GA. from January 1967 until he went to Vietnam. I was his chief clerk. He was the most efficient person, that I ever met and he set a high bar in running the office. He wrote me a letter of recommendation when I applied for my university position. I've been in the City University of New York for 47 years. I am Director of Institutional Records and Planning at Queensborough Community College. I still apply many of the methods that I learned from him to this day in evaluating and assessing academic performance.
