James F. Rack, 72, passed away peacefully in his home on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, after a valiant battle with Parkinson’s Disease. His passing was followed by a double rainbow in the sky that morning, giving his family comfort knowing that he had made it Home. Treasured brother of Gerry (Bonnie), Donny (Beverly) and Marilyn Rack; and dear brother-in-law of Shari (Terry) Wolf. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews, extended family members, friends, and the community of Reading. Jim was born on January 15, 1952, to the late Anthony and Frances Rack. In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death and adored by his father and mother-in-law, William and Clara Fuersich.

Jim had an infectious personality and strong work ethic. He was kindhearted and someone who consistently put others’ interest before his own. He spent most of his working years as a Building and Land Supervisor for the City of Reading. Jim also gave of his time generously by volunteering for the VYO and the city. His soul will be missed tremendously by everyone blessed enough to have known him.

Not sure what to say?

May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well lived. Bimbo was definitely one of a kind and will be missed by many.

Jim was a great guy I worked for him in the parks department when I was 16 in the 90s. God speed my friend

Jim was always a gentleman! He was always a pleasure to talk with, and he would always say something to make you laugh! I know he was always a competitor when he played for Lichty's football, since I got to play against him several times! I appreciate Jim for his hard work and dedication to his job of taking very good care of all the Reading fields during his working years! We will miss you running around the town of Reading. Your family is in our thoughts and prayers!
May the Lord bless...

One of the unique personalities on a Prus tag football team filled with them; probably the most outgoing. It was a pleasure to know him. RIP Bimbo!

Bimbo bronzed and shirtless plus many other faces most will recognize.

Great memories!! I believe he rode in a convertible to haul trophy back to bar. Quinny

So many great memories of my time with Jimmy. Funny, smart and full of life, he was one of a kind. I had the pleasure of coaching his son Tony who shared so many of his dad’s unique traits. I’ll miss my classmate, teammate and friend.

What can I say? He was just an amazing friend and athlete. Back in the day after every softball game the first thing he would do is whip off his shirt and work on his tan and he had a good one. Even in his later days whenever I saw him he would ask how my son Jason was doing...and he truly cared! That was Bimbo! My condolences to the entire Rack family, he will be missed.
