MY CONDOLENCES TO MR. RUEFS FAMILY AND FRIENDS,HIS PARENTS WERE MY NEIGHBORS AT DEVON GLEN APTS IN SPRINGFIELD FOR 6 YEARS OR MORE BEFORE THEY PASSED AWAY,YOU COULDNT ASK FOR NICER PEOPLE,AND THIER SON I MET SEVERAL TIMES, HE WAS THE SAME WAY,,MAY GOD TAKE HIM ON A LOVING JOURNEY AND MAY GOD BLESS HIS FAMILY AND FRIENDS AT THIS SAD TIME..

We will miss you so much, what a wonderful man and an incredible priest. Always in our hearts god bless you. Scott & Gina Bast

Monsignor was my best friend. I know I'll never find another like him. He was a good man and holy priest. Good job Monsignor Ruef. I want to thank you for being my friend and only wish I had the chance to say goodbye and to thank you. You made my and my family's world a better place. Look in on all of us from heaven. I know that by knowing you I have become a better man. you will be dearly missed.

Monsignor Ruef was the most charismatic and captivating person I have known. A huge spiritual and intellectual loss.

I remember Jim as a Springfield High School Class of 1957 classmate, so very gifted and talented. My sympathy to his family.
