Not sure what to say?

Nancy, in the intervening 60+ years, your friendship has always been part of my memories. Don and I send our condolences and prayers to you. Jim must have been a very loving person, and a smart one, to have chosen you!

I am saddened at Jim's passing. May he Rest In Peace and his family find solace.

Dr. Smallman was our family dentist for a couple of decades. He and Nancy always made a big fuss over our children during their visits. They'd hang our kids artwork on the office walls. We always felt welcome there. I'll never forget the pre-appointment rituals of following him into his office for his cigarette and some good conversation. I missed him when he retired and am very sorry to see his passing. He was one of the most pleasant men I've ever met.

Dr. Smallman was our family dentist for a couple of decades. He was a very pleasant person to share stories. He and Nancy always made a big deal over our children's visits to the office. The welcomes never ended. I'll never forget the ritual before each dental appointment, he had me follow him into his office for a cigarette and some hearty conversation. I missed him retiring from practice and will miss his place here. Glad to have known him.

Condolences to the family and friends of
Dr. James, may the love and laughter you once shared together comfort you. And the God of love be with you during this difficult time. (Psalm 147:3)

Over the years we maintained a sometimes close and always enduring friendship with Jim, Nancy and the girls. Great and contributory citizens of the Calumet Region as well as great dinner companions at the Sherwood Club! I still recall, discovering the hidden pictures in "Highlights" magazine prior to "drilling" rituals. we had the pleasure of fishing with Jim's Dad, also Jim, at Jim Sr's home on the shores of Lake Griffin, Florida. Deepest sympathy to all, Jim will never leave our collective...

We had the great pleasure of years of good times with Jim, Nancy and the girls. Jim was of course our "uncle" and dentist. Many fond memories of reading "Highlights" before the drilling ritual! I was even lucky enough to visit Jim's Dad, also Jim, at his home on Lake Griffin in Florida. A solid citizen who will be missed. Peace.

Jim was our father, Dick Smallman's, cousin. He provided free dental services to our family when we couldn't afford to pay for them. He was very kind to us and was my brother and my first dentist. Apparently our father lost touch with him later but I'll never forget how nice he was. He went to high school with our mom, Dorothy Horan, as well. Thinking of Jimmy's family at this time. Sounds like he lived a good life. ♥
