Yadkinville – James Allen Sneed, 83, passed away Saturday, July 29, 2017 at his home. He was born May 16, 1934 in Surry County to the late Troy Ford Sneed and Beulah Groce Sneed. Allen retired from R.J. Reynolds as a Supervisor, and he served as County Commissioner for Yadkin County. Allen was a member at Deep Creek Friends and served on several committees for the church. Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Wilma Reavis Sneed; son, Steve Allen (Kathy) Sneed; grandchildren, Kasey Sneed (Fiancé – John Davis), Brett Sneed, Dustin Sneed; sister, Carol Sneed (Donnie) Williams. His funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at Deep Creek Friends by the Rev. Randy Quate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. Flowers accepted or memorials can be made to Deep Creek Friends, 2836 Country Club Road, Yadkinville, NC 27055. Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville is serving the Sneed family. Wilma, I was very sorry to learn of Allen's death. He was always very friendly and nice to me. I was out of town and missed the visitation and funeral. You and the family will be in my thoughts and prayers.
