Rhonda, I didn't get an opportunity to meet Jim, but in getting to know you, makes me believe what a wonderful man he must've been. I am so sorry for your loss. I came across this obit as I was searching for relatives on facebook. I enjoyed watching the video and viewing the photos. Although, unfortunately, I did not know Jim, I feel like I do after reading the guest book and viewing the photos. The video made me shed a few tears. It was a nice tribute to him. I can tell he was a good, kind man with many friends. I am very sorry for your loss.

20 yrs ago. Jim was a regular customer of mine at the bar. Talk talk talk we did. Told him I needed to get to Vegas to catch a flight to Houston cause the Love of my life was there for one wk before heading to Korea for a yr. Had to go be with him. My family wasn't keen on it and wouldn't help. Jim to the rescue! He flew me from Apple Valley Airport to Las Vegas Airport to catch my flight to Houston. :). Must of believed in LOVE! Thank You Jim.. Celebrating my 20th Anniversary this yr to the same man. You were my Angel that day! Rhonda Cody-Petkus

The Angels just got lucky cuz their craft service is going to ROCK!! Jim was so loved. It didn't matter how early it was he was always there if you needed to talk or just to make you smile. He really cared about his friends and the people he worked with. If you were down he was always on of the first to ask what he could do to help. We will miss him so very much. Peace and love to his family.

I missed a bright light in my life by not meeting Jim, but felt I knew him through your entries on facebook. Rhonda, he sounded like such a special man, the way he made you hotcakes in bed for your anniversary, the beautiful trip to Tahoe this winter. You and your family were truly blessed by this bright light in your lives that was taken away too soon. All our family sends their condolences, and send their love.

"Jim was a great guy with a big heart and most importantly he made my dear friend very happy. Jim was loved and treasured by his family and friends and what more could anyone ask for?"

I wish I could have gotten to know Jim better. I only had the opportunity to work with him whenever he would come in to assist Rhonda. Show nights are always a little more stressful, but I never saw Jim without that huge infectiious smile. And of course there were those incredible picnics! He touched so many lives, and we are all better for it.

Jim always had a smile and a wave to everybody on and off the set. And I wish I had gotten to know him better then just the occasional chit-chat at work. We spend alot of time with our fellow workers and rarely know then personally. Jim is one that I wish I knew better before time ran out. I will greatly miss him and try to get to know some of my fellow worker better before it's too late. My heart goes out to Rhonda for her loss. Loosing a loved one is hard and a lot of people say it'll get easier with time---hopefully your pain will ease but his memory stays strong.

Jim was always smiling and I can't remember him ever complaining. For most of my patients, I think of them professionally. Jim and Rhonda weren't patients, they were friends. My heart aches, but we'll see Jim again in heaven. I pray God gives peace to Rhonda and the Wheelan family. I love you guys and am here for anything you need.

Here at Scott's birthday party. Thank you for being our friend.

My family and I had the pleasure to know Jim and Rhonda for many years, Jimmy was a great guy and last year’s BBQ was so fun, Jimmy was so sweet and nice to us. We truly will miss him. I personally will miss talking to him on the phone, taking his food orders, he was such a great customer and everyone at the CBS Commissary will miss him. Last time I spoke with him was a few weeks back , he called me from one of the stages at CBS and ask me for a couple heads of lettuce , I sent a guy to make the delivery and that was the last time we talked. I had shed many tears for his loss and I know that this is so hard for the family, I’m praying for all of you and I’m asking God to give you strength to go thru this. Please don’t forget that you will see him in heaven because that where he is at. Our hearts go out to you. The Hunt’s.

JIM LIVED. He worked hard, and played even harder! Down to earth, relaxed, he took it all in. He was a true friend, there for you no matter what. Whether it was out to dinner and drinks, or a late night poker game, he was always ready to enjoy a good night out with the people he loved.

We're really going to miss his smile, hospitality, kindhearted big-Jim-hugs and the fun he brought into our lives.

You won't hear the news of Jim Wheelan's death in the public media. He was one of Hollywood's unsung heroes, craft services. He fed the crew "snacks" between meals, served up delivered official meals, swept & cleaned the stage floors, monitored all the stage trash cans, ordered, picked up, loaded, & unloaded food, beverages, paper, & plastic supplies. Mind you, these offerings were attractively presented under strict health department standards. His chuck wagons also followed the crew on location. He had the uncanny ability of producing items out of thin air when requested. Jim genuinely loved his job, & his positive attitude was infectious. His passing won't go unnoticed by his industry friends. He absolutely loved his family, I can't imagine their loss. I'm so sorry Rhonda :( My condolences to your friends & family.

Im sorry for living so far away, for not being able to see you one last time, and now not knowing what to say. I wish I could turn back the clock, to run into your arms and feel the security of your embrace, to be comforted by your voice assuring me that you love me and that I will always bee your little girl. I love you too daddy. I will thank the Lord every day for sparing you the pain and suffering that could have been thrust upon you, but I will wonder every day why you had to go so soon. Wait for me Dad, I will see you again some day.. I Promise! Love your little girl.

Jim, I do love you for you have been there for me in so many ways. I've never had to doubt your love for me. I would not be doing the work I do if you hadn't pushed and encouraged me, you got me thru all the bad things when Dom was ill and you earned respect from my kids which isn't always easy with stepkids. We went thru much together, some good some bad but we didn't get to go thru enough as it ended too soon.

Rhonda- We were so sorry to hear about the loss of your husband Jim. What I remember about Jim who we didn't know too well was his wonderful personality and Wheelan smile. It seems that all the Wheelan siblings have that beautiful smile. I got to meet you and Jim at George and Teri's house on Thanksgiving a few times. May time heal your pain. God Bless You and Your Family.

Jim was a fun guy. Whenever he came back to our part of the country to visit he was always lugging around a new laptop. He had way too many pictures on it because he did location scouting for movies, but that also meant that he had pretty cool stuff to show you. He made my sister Rhonda happy, and that's enough right there.

Patti and Keeth Lawrence

June 7, 2010

The pictures really tell a story about the man Jim was and the great life that he had! I really enjoyed looking at them! Rhonda, I hope you keep in touch with both of us and reach out to family and friends when you need a shoulder. Someone told me this when my mom passed away and I've passed it on several times since... 'What you are feeling now will never completely go away, but it does get bettter.' See you Saturday Patti and Keeth Lawrence
