Jane Reitz Obituary
She graduated, with a bachelor's degree in business education, from Villa Maria College. She went on to first teach in Rocky Hill, then moved back to Pennsylvania, to teach at Eisenhower High School in Norristown, Pa. Shortly after is when she met her future husband, Larry Reitz, in Lansdale, Pa. in the summer of 1968. One year later, they were married in November 1969.
Jane was a loving, caring, strong woman who took care of her family in her later years. She had the brightest smile anyone had ever seen, and put everyone else's needs before her own.
Jane is survived by her loving husband Larry; children, Greg (Cassandra) Reitz and former wife - Eliza Reitz of Maryland, Amy Reitz and Chris Monty of Salem; grandchildren: Matthew, Daniel, Joseph, Ariya and Charli. Jane is predeceased by her parents; brother, Jim Duffield and his son, Scott Duffield.
Calling hours will be held from 10 until 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 5, in Fulton-Theroux Funeral Home, 13 Lake Avenue, Niantic. A Service will follow at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow at Salem Green Cemetery, Salem.

I met Jane when I was a brand new teacher at Durham High School. Jane was a popular teacher of business at our school. We became friends and she invited me join with another friend in renting a house the following year.
Always warm and gracious, Jane taught me hospitality and kindness. She helped me host a 40th wedding anniversary for my parents. She was my right hand as Maid of Honor when Jake and I got married over 50 years ago.
Our 4 children adored Jane and were very saddened by her passing. They all have fond memories of Jane. Our daughter said: "I remember she was always very kind to us little kids and who could forget their fun pool!." Jane used to drive a Volkswagen Beetle, so as young kids, if any of them spotted a "Beetle", they would shout out: "Jane´s car!"
I will always hold in my heart and mind, Jane´s generous spirit and her infectious laugh. She was my role model of being a true friend and I miss her very much, but i know she now at rest among the saints. I pray that Jane´s gracious and loving spirit will remain with us forever.
