She was recently a member of Heritage Christian Church. Janet was an avid sports fan (and athlete!) her entire life - the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Big Red Machine held a special place in her heart.

Janet is survived by three daughters, Susan Jenkins and her wife, the late Brenda Bowers, of Canal Winchester; Jennifer (Matt) Teleha of Kettering; and Caroline (Greg) Reynolds of Centerville; seven grandchildren, Olivia, Katherine, Joel, and Meredith Teleha; Phoebe Magruder, Sabine and Nico Reynolds; and a beloved sister, Joy (Gene) Thomas of Sanbornville, NH and their three children Vicki Ridlon, Eric (Marcia) and Doug (Shannan) Thomas.

Not sure what to say?

Janet Jenkins was my music teacher at Waterloo. She worked with me to make me a better clarinetist even on her own time. Miss Jenkins found an opportunity for me to compete for a music clinic scholarship conducted at Ohio University. Through her tireless efforts on preparing me for the audition I did win this scholarship and was one of the youngest music clinic attendees. At the clinic in my woodwind tryouts I advanced to the Honor Band. I could not have obtained this musical level without...

Mom and I at her last Waterloo Alumni Banquet, May 27, 2017.

I am saddened to hear of Jan’s passing. I remember her teaching at Clearcreek in my early years as a teacher at Springboro Jr. High. My daughter, Jennifer Blackburn at the time, was a student of Jan’s and was very fond of her. She was so kind. Rest In Peace, Jan.

I am deeply sorry to hear e the his about Jan. I am a former student, and knew her and her parents my entire childhood. Thinking of her family at this time.

My sister Joan Dow and I have very fond memories of Jan. We grew up together in New Marshfield. She was a very sweet girl. We will miss her. RIP sweet Jan.

In loving memory of a wonderful person and teacher , God bless ,Prayers for the family
