Janet F. Riley

Janet F. Riley, 70, passed away on Sunday, May 25, 2025. She was born on August 1, 1954, to the late David and Lucille Granley Kern in Waynesburg. On July 14, 1976, she married the late William D. Riley. Janet was a retired CNA, a former employee of Super 8 Hotel and Long John Silver's. She was a member of the Rolling Meadows Church of God in Waynesburg. She enjoyed spending time at the Drop-In Center in Waynesburg, traveling to Virginia, spending time with her family and friends and playing with her granddogs. Surviving are two children: Jason Riley and Melinda Ruhl; and two son-in-laws, Peter and Will Ruhl. She was known as "Mom" to many, or also as J and J (Jesus and Janet). She was blessed to have 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and granddogs. Janet had 10 siblings: the late Marietta and (Roy) Owens, the late Linda (Jack) Sirk, Orpha Lou and the late (Mike) Sirk, Wanda and the late (Ralph) Bunch, Dorene and the late (Leonard) Cook, the late Samuel Kern, the late Darlene Kern, the late Daniel Kern and Davidene and the late (Dennis) Prout. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, May 30, at the Rolling Meadows Church of God, 595 Rolling Meadows Road, Waynesburg, PA 15370, with her funeral service being held at 1 p.m. with Pastor Richard Berkey officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family, as well as bringing a favorite pic to the reception, to be held at the Rolling Meadows Church of God following her funeral service.
