Janet Sears Obituary

Janet Elizabeth Sears of Clarksville TN passed away on July 18th 2025 at Tristar Centennial in Nashville, TN at the age of 50.

Janet was born on August 18th, 1974 in Stuttgart Germany to Joseph and Myra (deceased) Moorhouse and she was the 2nd child of 4. She grew up in Clarksville-Montgomery County, a Northwest High School Alum of 1992. She began her professional career at the age of 16 at the Opryland USA Park in Nashville, TN. She was married to her first husband Joey Davis in 1993 and had 3 children. They were divorced in 1996 and she remarried the Love Of Her Life in 1996, Scott Sears, and the following year left Ft. Campbell to PCS to Ft. Bragg, NC. Here they had their only child together, Ashlyn Barry.

Upon Scott's honorable discharge from the Army, in 2000, they relocated to Largo, FL where they lived for 8 years before coming back to Clarksville in September 2008. While living in Florida she received her Bachelors in Criminal Justice from Remington College. And while back in Clarksville she was active in her local church and Awana program at Bible Baptist Church. She also drove school buses for CMCSS and city buses for CTS. In 2017 she was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease and Fibromyalgia and fought for many years for relief of the symptoms. In July of 2025 she was then diagnosed with ovarian cancer and less than 48 hours later went home to be with her Lord. Despite the struggles she faced in life, she was a kind hearted individual who saw a need and tried to help any way she could. She loved her Chihuahuas and never sold a puppy ever, they were always free to loving homes in need of a little joy.

She is preceded in death by her Mother Myra Moorhouse, Father-in-Law Gene Sears and Son-in Law Dalton Barry.

She leaves behind her Husband of 29 years Scott Sears, her children Joey Davis, Gwen Willis(Joseph), Britny Hobbs(CJ) and Ashlyn Barry and 7 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild; also her siblings John Moorhouse(Evan), Mindy Blaum, and Jamie Moorhouse and 7 nieces and nephews. Her father Joseph Moorhouse and other extended Family members.
