Janice Roark Obituary
Family-Placed Death Notice
ROARK, Janice Janice Marcelle Roark, age 67, of Jonesboro, died Saturday April 3, 2010. Mrs. Roark was retired after 42 years as the beverage manager at the Commerce Club in Atlanta. She is survived by her husband of 21 years Bobbie Louis Roark, daughter Darlene and David Levine of Fayetteville, son Anthony Payne of Jonesboro, and son-in-law Larry Beverly of Norcross. Also survived by grandchildren Brett and Evan Levine, and Victoria, Joseph, Damian, and Russell Beverly; siblings: Ruth Collett of Atlanta, Camellia and Eloise Collett of Alpharetta, Helen Hayes of Atlanta, Norma Jean and Gene Pruitt of Canton, Juanita and Bill Wheeler of Canton, Jeff Tonge of Lady Lake, FL, Lamar and Brenda Collett of Atlanta, Don and Marie Roark of Edmond, OK. She was preceded in death by her parents Clarence E. and Naomi Ida Collett and siblings Lawrence Collett, Shirley Collett, Sue Tonge and Richard Roark. Memorial services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday April 7, 2010 in the Tara Chapel. The family will receive friends from 1 until time of service. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in memory of Janice Marcelle Roark. Arrangements by Horis A. Ward Tara Chapel.

I took care of Mrs. Roark for one night in the hospital...I believe that we met by devine intervention. I needed her that night as much as she needed me. She was a very sweet woman, and I will always cherish our night together in CCU. She left me a beautiful Barbie when I returned to work 2 nights later. I visited her at Vitas Care after I got off of work the next morning to thank her... we hugged and I thanked God for letting me meet Mrs. Roark... rest in peace dear lady, I hope you meet my mother in heaven and I look forward to seeing you both again one fine day. I pray for God's peace for all of Mrs. Roark's family and friends. Debra Burkett, RN
