Janice Joy Skidmore

Jan and I were best friends in Portales. We grew up together and went to schools. Her and I shared a love for reading and learning. We were very good friends in Junior High. I just learned about her passing at our 45th High School reunion. I am so sorry.

I am just now learning of my classmate's passing. This breaks my heart. Jan was always the sharpest pencil in the box and we could depend on her to be a moral compass to the student body. As her sister in Christ, I know of her joyful eternity but would have loved to visit with her on this earth to share life's ebbs & flows. My deepest sympathy.

We were so sad to read about Jan's passing. We left Portales in 1966 when she was six, but stayed in contact with Steve and Mildred. They are a great family and we have many published articles that were written by Steve and his dad. Our prayers are with her family and with all the extended family. Praying for strength and comfort for all of you! Love,

We love you all! Jan's life was a blessing to everyone. She is an example for all. We are sad and cry with you over the loss of your beloved Jan. We will keep praying day and night for your comfort and for the Lord to give you peace. Please know that even though we can't be there with you, we are still thinking of you and praying for you.
