JANIE GRAVES Obituary

Janie C. Kilpatrick Sharpe Graves lost her valiant battle with ovarian cancer on the morning of August 2, her family at her side. She was preceded in death by her parents Floyd and Viola Kilpatrick and her older brother, Tom Kilpatrick. She is survived by her loving husband who remained by her side through this trying ordeal, Lonnie Graves. She has 5 children who adore her and will miss her greatly, Anthony Sharpe, Mark Sharpe, Jennifer Short, Lisa Savage and Lonnie Graves, Jr. Janie was an avid amateur photographer mostly enjoying taking pictures of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will dearly miss their Gammie. True to Janie’s wishes, an informal gathering will be held on Friday, August 5 at 9802 Oldham Dr, Cordova, TN 38016 for those dear to her. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Ovarian Cancer Awareness Foundation, 6025 Stage Rd, and Suite 42- 218, Bartlett, TN 38134-8377 or visit them at www.ovariancancerawarenessfoundation.org where you will see Janie on the homepage after she proudly participated in their annual awareness walk.

I knew Miss Janie as a good friend to my mother and a great neighbor that was always smiling and happy.Even after I moved out of the neighborhood I would miss knowing that she was not still a neighbor to my parents she was a wonderful person and will be greatly missed.I am so sorry for the great loss to the family of such a great mother/wife best wishes to you all. I'm originally from Union City, and worked with Janie at Conners Photo. When I came to Memphis to work at Fox Photo there she was working there. She was a very nice person. I liked her very much. Sorry to learn of her passing. Its our loss and heavens gain. RIP Janie.
