Janis "Jan" James Crabtree, age 74, of Dacula, GA, previously of Oak Grove Community, LA, passed away on Sunday, July 12, 2015 with family by her side at Peachtree Christian Hospice in Duluth, GA.

Jan was born and raised on the family farm in Louisiana with her parents, the late Carrie Elizabeth and John W. James. She graduated with honors from Dry Prong High School where she was also a guard on the varsity girls' basketball team. She studied business at Northwestern State University, Natchitoches, LA. She was employed for many years with Sandia BMW in Albuquerque, NM and through hard work and diligence she became and retired as the Comptroller. Jan had the most loving personality and was a role model to her daughters, a loving wife, grandmother, sister and aunt. Over the years Jan dearly loved to cook and entertain family and friends.

In addition to her parents, Janis is preceded in death by her sister; Jewell Wheat and her husband Jimmy both of Plano, TX.,

Survivors include her loving husband of 48 years; Albert E. Crabtree of Dacula, GA. daughters; Kris Renee Seals of Valencia, CA and Lana Beth Ramirez of Littleton, CO, sister; Johnnie Fay and her husband Meredith Laird of Fredericksburg, VA, grandchildren; Ryan Seals and his wife, Janelle Kulpa Seals of San Diego, CA, Kelly Hudak of Valencia, CA, Lucas Ramirez and Micah Ramirez both of Littleton, CO, great grandson; Logan Hudak of Valencia, CA, nieces; Lexi Erickson of CO and Julie West of Plano TX, nephew; Jeffery Laird of Frankfort, KY, other relatives and loving friends.

The services for Mrs. Crabtree will begin with the inurnment service at 10:00 am Saturday, July 18, 2015 at the Oak Grove Community Church Cemetery, just off Rt. 8 in Colfax, LA, with a Memorial service in the church to follow. The family will receive friends following the Memorial service.
