JEAN HODGE

Together Again Jean Thompson Hodge was born on October 28, 1927, in Los Angeles, CA. She passed away on Sunday, March 13, 2016, in Fresno, CA. Jean graduated from Fresno High in 1945 with her future husband, Clarence 'Jack' Hodge. They were married in February of 1946, in Fresno. Jean worked as a medical secretary to put Jack through medical school in Washington, D.C. They moved back to Fresno after Jack graduated in 1957. Jean was a member of the Eastern Star Raisina Chapter #89 O.E.S., where she served as Worthy Matron and Deputy Grand Matron of the Grand Chapter of California, O.E. S. She was also a member of Sharon Temple Daughters of the Nile, and Past Noble Grand of Fresno Rebekah Lodge #58 Fresno, California. Jean was active in and served as President in both St. Agnes Women's Club and the Medical Alliance. She enjoyed needlepoint, knitting, and playing bridge. Jean was preceded in death by Clarence, her husband of 68 years; her parents, Elvira Thompson, and P. Edward Thompson; step-mother, Louise Thompson; and mother-in-law, Ruby Hodge Wynegar. She is survived by her daughters, Linda LaMontagne and her husband William of Clovis, CA, and Lynn Lewis and her husband Mark of Bakersfield, CA; granddaughter, Michelle Loel and her husband Grant; two grandsons, Onnis Newell, Jr., and Nathan Newell; one great-granddaughter, Ashlyn Loel; sister-in-law, Jeri Rainey; and two nieces, and their families. Visitation will be held at Boice Funeral Home on Saturday, March 26, 2016, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at New Hope Community Church, 4620 E. Nees Ave., Clovis, CA, on Monday, March 28, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. A reception to follow. There will be a private Graveside Service for family.
