JEAN M. PARRISH

JEAN MARGARET AARON PARRISH (Age 94)  
Of Rixeyville, VA died on July 29, 2015 at the Culpeper Baptist Home. She was born on August 19, 1920 in Manila, Philippines. The oldest of four children, she and her family lived happily in that country until the outbreak of World War II when, as British citizens, they were taken as prisoners of war and interred for 39 months in the Santo Tomas and later Los Baños prison camps. After being liberated by American forces, she married fellow internee Edward "Ned" Parrish Jr. and moved with him to the US. In the following years they raised four sons, traveled the world together, and remained happily married until Ned's death in 1992. In 1970 they moved from New York to a farm on the Hazel River in Rixeyville where they both lived for their remaining years.Jean is survived by her four sons, Edward Parrish III of Washington DC, Alexander Parrish of Stamford, CT, Robert Parrish of Rixeyville, VA, and Charles Parrish of Alexandria, VA, seven grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
