Not sure what to say?

Jeannie, Park, Dr. Simpson, John -
I'm sorry for your loss. I loved your mother, Jean Simpson, like a sister.

When I first moved across the street from her, I had just lost my husband in the last year. She and her poetry and my poetry and I were all great company for each other. We loved to share our poetry and she encouraged my writing. She loved for me to read poetry to her, especially the "Highwayman". She always told me the stories about her "school days" and her early...

Hello Jeanie, Debbie just sent me your mother's obituary today. I am so sorry for your loss, but knowing your mother, she is in a much better place. I just wanted to let you know I have thought of you through the years and cherished our time as children. I would love to hear from you again and catch up on all the water that has gone under the bridge. Bill and I live in Hickory, NC. If you get a chance give me a call - 828-327-7077. With fond memories, Jan Horne Mixon

She and I shared a love of poetry. I still have one of the books of poetry she gave me when I graduated high school, with her sweet notes of encouragement written in. I continued to come see her for several years when I came back to Columbus, but...
