Montgomery - Jeanne Sheridan McGinty, 94, went home to be with the Lord on December 24, 2020 surrounded by her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband Charles J. McGinty, Sr after 60 years of marriage. She is survived by her children; daughters Mary Shea (Sid) Schroll, Jeanne (David) Barranco, Maureen (Arthur) Britton and son Charles (Yvonne) McGinty, Jr. 12 grandchildren: Jennifer (Rob) Garland, Brian (Gina) Schroll, Jeff (Beth) Barranco, Charlie (Rachel) Barranco, David (Emily) Schroll, Ben (Alana) Barranco, Andy (Jenny) Barranco, Laura (Shawn) Feely, Allen (Sydni) McGinty, Anna Kate, Connor, Joseph McGinty, and 26 great-grandchildren, sister Vivian O'Brien and brother-in-law Barney (Skippy) McGinty, numerous nieces and nephews.

Jeanne was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, lovingly known as Nan. She was born and raised in Knoxville, Tennessee. She graduated from Webster College and worked as a dietitian at Charity Hospital in New Orleans. After she met and married her husband Charlie, they raised their family in Montgomery until 1982 when they moved to Dothan and lived for 25 years. They returned to Montgomery to spend their later years with family which was so important to them.

There will be a private Memorial Mass and Rosary for the family on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church.

The family would like to thank John Knox Manor and staff for their years of care and Father Alex Valladares for blessing her during her final hours.
