Jeffery A. Turner, 63 of Bucyrus passed away on Tuesday July 22, 2025, at Altercare of Bucyrus. Jeff was born September 7, 1961, in Bucyrus to the late Don and Donna (Allen) Turner. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by wife Kathy (Ryland) Turner in 1994.
Jeff is survived by cousins and his "adopted" mom and dad Deb and Larry Tackett as well as a host of friends.
Jeff graduated from Bucyrus High School in 1980 and worked at Fairway School for many years as a teacher’s aide. His last work was as an assembler at Waycraft Enterprises. He was a member of Grace Point Church in Galion.
Jeff was a board member for the Crawford County Board of DD. He was also a part of the mentoring group, Project Stir, Self Advocacy, and he held several different offices for Chargers for Change. Jeff served 2 terms as Secretary of the Ohio Development Disabilities Board. Jeff was such a strong advocate and friend to so many that he will be missed tremendously. Jeff looked out for others and was a big brother figure to many. He was involved with Special Olympics for many years, and you could find him at many High School games sitting in the stands cheering on his community.
The family would like to extend a thank you to everyone who helped make Jeff’s life so rich and beautiful. Whether you shared a joke or a meal, lent a hand, or simply took time to chat with him, please know how grateful we are. His life was richer because of you.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday at 1:00 pm in the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home with burial to follow in Oakwood Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home from 11:30 am until the time of the service.The family asks that attendees wear Ohio State apparel. Expressions of sympathy can be left at www.munzpirnstill.com.

Jeff was a wonderful person, who always had a smile. He was very loving and kind. I will miss him always messing up my hair when he'd see me at church.

I worked with Jeff for many years but will remember him always as a friend. We shared many good times at dances, meetings and Aktion Club. Always a laugh and a kind word. He will be deeply missed and always remembered.

I was so sorry to hear of Jeff's passing. I knew him and his parents when they attended BNC when it was on the corner of Warren and Iron Streets. My thoughts and prayers are with his cousons and friends.
