Jeffrey Jay “Budman”, “J Man”, Claseman, 56, resident of Moose Lake, died unexpectedly on Thursday, March 31st, 2022 in Essentia Health – Moose Lake. He was born on January 10th, 1966 to Clem “Butch” and ZoeAnn (Rode) Claseman in St. Paul, MN.

Jeff attended grade school at St. Columba and high school at St. Bernard’s where he graduated in 1984. After high school, Jeff went right to work for Plywood Industries and spent many, many years there. He then began a career with McDonald Distributing which employed him until just last year. Jeff moved on to a new type of work; construction. It was something he enjoyed and allowed him a slower pace of life and more time to enjoy the things he loved most. Those hobbies included fishing in his younger years, hunting as an adult, socializing with his endless group of friends, helping anybody who needed it, maintaining his lawn, tinkering with trucks and anything that needed fixing, and simply enjoying the life he was given. Above all other things, Jeff prioritized his role as a Dad: he and his son, Andrew, had a special bond that can never be broken. You may have known Jeff as the “karaoke king” for his abilities to belt Sweet Child O’ Mine and other classic rock n’ roll songs louder and better than anybody else.

Jeff was a phenomenal friend and an all-around good guy. His passing will leave a hole in many hearts. Jeff will be deeply missed by many and will never be forgotten for his caring, helpful, loyal, and funny ways.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Butch and ZoeAnn Claseman.

His legacy will live on through his son, Andrew Claseman; siblings, Bob Claseman, Franco Claseman, and Zoey (Mark) Glumack; nieces and nephews, Nick, Baily, Zoey, Dawson, Taylor, Brooke, Spike, Prince, and Star; Andrew’s Mom, Lori DeWitt; dear friends and travel partners, Luke and Jackie Horton; numerous cousins, other relatives, and a long list of friends and colleagues.

If you were Jeff’s friend for one day, you were his friend for a lifetime. We will all remember him as always having a kind word, helping hand, and a cold beer.

A visitation to honor Budman’s life will be held from 10:00am until 1:00pm, followed by a Celebration of Life at 1:00pm on Saturday, April 23rd, 2022 in Doc’s Bar and Grill Outdoor Pavilion, Sturgeon Lake.

Not sure what to say?

Jeff was a friend to everyone that knew him. I hired Jeff at McDonald Distributing some 20 plus years ago and although Jeff had no experience in the beer business at that time, he essentially sold me on his love for Beer, being a Beer Guy myself. Jeff initially was hired to be a Driver Assistant, but given his work ethic, passion for the beer business, and growing experience Jeff was quickly promoted to be a Driver. After a few years Jeff expressed an interest in the sales aspect of the beer...

His dad him and his brothers hunted with my dad and some other neighbors family! He was a great guy all around! Love you and miss you Jeff Claseman ( Budman) PS say hi to my mom, sister and Brady niece for me!

Rest in peace my friend.

I worked with Jeff for many years at PI. I was very sad to here of such a great person passing way before he should have.

I remember Jeff from the 90's and had the honor of being in his and Lori's wedding. Jeff was very kind, always had a smile...grin on his face, and was a good man. My sympathy to Andrew and the rest of his family.

Had the pleasure of working with him as well as hanging out after work . Always had fun being around with him seemed like everybody knew who was and would speak to him. I know he will sadly be missed by many. God bless you “Bud Man “

Such a sad day to hear of Jeff's passing. I had the pleasure of working with him for approx 14yrs and I'll never forget all the fun/ wonderful memories we had. Such a fun loving, hard working and most proud Dad. He sure lit up the room and made things extra fun when he was a part and his little giggle is etched in my mind. I'm praying for Andrew and all those missing Jeff. I also pray he knew his smile made so many others smile. RIH Jeff
