Dear family of Dr. Jeffrey Melton

I was a patient of Dr. Jeff's and was shocked to find out just today about his passing when I called to make my annual appointment. I was stunned to realize that my last visit with him on 9/25/12 was very shortly before his passing.

I am so sad to hear about Jeff's passing. It doesn't seem that long ago we were all at Cornell together. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

While I was just a one time patient of Dr. Melton, my surgery was a 6 hour one in which we engaged in a comfortable conversation. He made an impact on me and I raved about his tremendous skill as a surgeon, but was even more impressed by his bedside manner. I was saddened to hear of his passing and know how sad your family must be. In that short time, he told me much about his wife and children and seemed so incredibly proud and happy. I only met Dr. Melton a few times for treatment of a dermatological issue, but I remember him as a warm, funny, energetic man. I am sorry to hear of his passing.

I just received a letter from Dr. Melton's estate alerting of his death. I was so shocked and am so very saddened. My mother was a patient of his several times in the last few years. He was a very nice down to earth man. I just feel the need to send my deep regrets to his family.

Darlene, I was very sad to hear I have lost one my Cornell roommates. Reading all the wonderful thoughts and words about him as a doctor, friend and Dad tells me he lived a happy and successful life. I pray the memories he left behind provide strength and comfort to you and your family.

My condolensces to the Melton family. Jeffrey was a conscientious dermatologist and dermatological surgeon who helped to improve our specialty and I am sure helped many patients.
